About Us OUR STORY
Blossomed from our creative director, Adjie Satyaji, passion in fashion despite having electro-computer and management and telecommunication business degree. Although he was working at a telecommunication company since 2004, he’s still designing batik and made Playwithbatik as side business.
The motivation to build Playwithbatik started to rise when the Government promote batik as every day wear (at that time every Friday for office wear) and also because claim of batik ownership by another country. Adjie started batik revolution and design batik that can be worn in formal and informal settings but still stylish.
Adjie began designing clothes made from his mother’s fabrics and selling it through Facebook. The success of selling through Facebook brought Playwithbatik to the next stage. In 2010, Playwithbatik which located in Jakarta was officially launched and began to participate in fashion fairs and fashion shows at home and abroad. In 2014, Playwithbatikstarted joining large scale fashion show. Playwithbatik brand is already registered in Depkumham. Customers from both Indonesia and abroad fall in love Playwithbatik products that use traditional materials such as batik, ikat, tenun and lurik.
